Seller Description

Serious buyers, feel free to give me a call at (five-one-seven) 425-0142; I'll have the vehicle listed elsewhere, so it's possible this auction won't last! -Eric

The Z3 M Coupe....some love it, some (foolish) people hate it....But you're here looking, so you must be a truly enlightened auto-enthusiast!

1 of 196 produced in this combination (North American data)

Fantastic little hatchback, originally a Utah car, I purchased it from the original owner a while back with less than 40K miles; (older gentleman, took very good care of it, always garaged, properly stored during winter). Throughout my ownership, I've continued to to maintain it as well as possible. Always garaged, washed/waxed/detailed frequently. I can't say the car has never seen rain, but I've avoided inclement weather whenever possible; this car is my secondary vehicle. (To be honest, I'm not sure if I've ever needed to add windshield washer fluid? Maybe once haha) During the winter months always stored indoors under a custom-fit car cover, battery removed and put on a battery tender inside, and Stabil fuel stabilizer in the gas tank.

Car & Driver feature: (see pic) Actual car used for the feature, tons of fun hanging out with the C&D crew for the shoot, and they all loved the M Coupe!

Mechanical: Shortly after I took ownership, I took it to Randy Forbes (THE undisputed Z3 guru) for Service/Inspection II, fluids, filters, plugs, etc...as well as: Rear subframe inspection, stainless steel brake lines and fluid change, Rogue Engineering rear shock mounts, Ireland Engineering rear subframe bushings.
*Overall inspections done every year by BMW.
*Water pump replaced (and coolant flush) at just under 60K miles (preventative; original water pump had no signs of going bad yet).
*2-3 oil changes per summer (depending on mileage), always used Lubro Moly or BMW oil, and filters from either BMW, MAHLE, or MANN
*Hawk HP+ brake pads
*ATE Super Blue/Gold brake fluid
*Rear calipers rebuilt this year using OEM BMW parts
*Racing Dynamics RD Sport cat-back exhuast, all stainless steel (much lighter than stock, larger diameter tips. Sounds great, but not too loud)

Interior: Black Nappa leather interior, excellent condition overall, extremely minimal wear for the car's mileage/age. Comes with 2 sets of OEM mats; I primarily used the all-weather rubber mats, so the original carpet floor mats are in great shape. Professionally tinted, side windows are 15%, rear 35%, sunroof 5%. The tint does an excellent job of keeping the interior cool (and reduces wear).

Exterior: Titanium Silver Metallic, very nice overall condition, all original body panels, no paint work. Car has over 70K miles, so understand that it's not perfect. Wheels are in very good shape overall, wrapped in Dunlop Direzza Star Spec tires (not new by any means; fronts are getting pretty worn, rears aren't terrible, but a new set of 4 would be a good idea, especially in wet/cold conditions). Car has front bumper clear side markers.

25% deposit due within 3 days of auction end, balance due within 7 days or vehicle pickup, whichever comes first. I would prefer to deal with bank wire transfers of funds. Car sold as/is, no warranties, refunds, or anything of that matter.

My Comments

Sold 12/20/11 - Sold for $17,900

12/19/11 Update - Reserve has been met at $17,900 with less than a day left. That's a good deal for this coupe.

12/13/11 Update - Relisted on Ebay

12/8/11 Update - Bidding ended at a respectable $18,200, but it did not meet the reserve.

This is a very well cared for coupe by an active Bimmerforums member who is only selling to buy an S54 next spring. It also has the special provenance of being the actual car featured in the Car and Driver issue last year which will always be a good story. It's only had two owners, and you can be sure any coupe personally worked on by Randy Forbes is in good shape. It looks to be in very nice condition for the mileage, and I really like the look of the exhaust. I'm not sure I've seen the Racing Dynamics exhaust on another coupe before. I'm looking forward to seeing what it goes for.
