Seller Description

Well, after a recent move down to San Francisco, I realize that keeping my Coupe as a grocery mobile just doesn’t make a lot of sense. It is my favorite car in the world (as I am sure most of us here can appreciate), but my lack of time has left my car unused. As we all learned from Harry and the Hendersons, if you truly love something, sometimes it is better to let it go back to where it belongs…and for this Coupe, it belongs with someone who will drive it.

I have owned this car since January of this year when I bought it for $18,200. At the time the car had 87,568 miles.

Fast-forward to now…the car now has 93,649 miles on it (6 or so more miles will be added tomorrow) and is in better condition than when I purchased it. Since buying the car, I have kept detailed records of everything I have done with the car: from oil changes, to preventative maintenance, upgrades, all the way down to gasoline fill-ups with calculated mileage and consumption rates. I took the pleasure of owning this car very seriously, and it shows.

As per the following pictures, it is 1999 Imola Red Coupe with all black interior. It has a CLEAN Washington Title and is fully registered with tabs until January of 2012. As a heads up, my credit union in Portland has the title.

The interior is in perfect condition with absolutely no rips, tears, or stains in the leather; immaculate carpet, headliner, glass, etc.; and perfect dash and console. The exterior is about as good as it gets for a car from ’99, although this is pretty much expected from most M Coupes. It obviously has some rock chips (minimal), some minor curb rash on the wheels, and a couple of scuffs on the front bumper: all from the previous owner.

THINGS EVERYONE WILL ASK ABOUT…
—The rear subframe and trunk show absolutely no signs of wear, cracks, etc.
—When it gets quite cold, it does have a sticky 5th, although that goes away once the car warms up

Since owning the car, I have completed the following maintenance…

—Fixed rear hatch actuator
—Changed the rear diff and transmission fluid to Amsoil
—Replaced rear hatch struts
—Upgraded RSM to Rogue Engineering
—Replaced water pump and accessory belt
—Replaced valve cover gasket (to fix very minor oil leak)
—Replaced window sliders (both driver and passenger side)
—Complete A/C system overhaul: including new compressor, recharge, etc.
—Fixed all rattles in car
—Replaced dead pedal

I have also added the following (I would argue tasteful) mods:
—DICE iPod integration with iPhone 4 mount
—Professional hardwire of Escort Radar Detector system (radar detector not included)
—Storm Motorwerks shift knob and e-brake handle
—LeatherZ armrest and center console
—LeatherZ chrome lock pulls and headlight pull knob
—LeatherZ intermittent wiper module
—Curved M badges (yes, I realize it is not a 2001+, but mine were faded)
—Airbag Sticker delete on visors
—All M-series floor mats including rear hatch mat
—Seat tilt mod
—Umnitza projectors and angel eyes
—Noah car cover
—Professional tint all around: 18% all around including sunroof, 55% windshield (Since installation, I have yet to have any action from the police)
—The car also comes with an extra set of Roadstar wheels. They are in decent condition other than one that has a slight dent and a gouge.
—Also, I still have the old headlights. They are the clear corner headlights and are in perfect condition. They are, however, in Portland.

NOW FOR THE PRICE: I am asking, and will get $16,500 for this car. I will not go lower. This is a ridiculous price, especially because of the extras that come with the car. I beg of you in advance to not give me an offer less than $16,500, because you will truly be wasting both of our time. I am pricing it so low because I am working 60+ hours a week and really don’t want to spend any time in getting rid of my baby.

If anyone has ANY questions, please feel free to drop me a line at Ryanwar7 ----at----gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Feel free to put your number in the body of the email so we can more easily communicate via phone if you so desire.

My Comments

Sold 10/24/11 - Sold for asking price!

10/17/11 Update - Price reduced to $15,500 from $16,500 making it an even better deal.

I think this is a good deal on a very well cared for coupe. He's already done the preventative maintenance required of a higher mileage S52 including the water pump, RSMs, and AC along with many other nice updates/repairs. His upgrades are also simple and well selected. The only issue I can see are the scrapes on the front bumper that he highlights. The interior is in great shape for the mileage.
