Seller Description

This auction is for a 2002 M Coupe in excellent condition. This vehicle is in very good overall condition. I am only selling because I plan on buying a newer Z4 M Coupe.

This is one of the best BMW's that I have owned in the past 15 years. It really puts my 335i to shame as far as driving excitement goes.

In the last month I have replaced all the rotors and pads, the clutch line with a stainless steel version, all the brake and clutch fluid, performed an oil change with the recommended 10-60 oil, replaced the spark plugs with the OEM spec plugs, and replaced the air filter.

It's ready to go a long while before it needs any service.

Please contact me via email if you have any questions or would like to see additional pictures. Car is sold as is and I will be happy to show it in person to any serious bidders. I prefer to sell locally but can assist with shipping if required, buyer would be responsible for all shipping charges if applicable. I reserve the right to end auction early or cancel any bids at anytime. Payment will only be accepted via certified check, or money order. Personal checks will not be accepted. A non-refundable deposit of $2000 is due within 48 hours of auction close. Remaining balance is to be paid within 7 days of auction close. Again please contact me if you have any questions.

My Comments

Sold 8/11/11 - Craigslist ad was deleted, so I think it sold this time.

8/8/11 Update - Price reduced again to $17,950 from $18,500

8/1/11 Update - Apparently it did not sell a few weeks ago as it's back on Craigslist

7/10/11 Update - Now listed for just $18,500. Someone buy it already!

7/8/11 Update - Ebay auction ended with a high bid of $16,100 which did not meet the reserve.

7/1/11 Update - Back on Ebay with the buy-it-now still at $18,995

6/28/11 Update - Now on AutoTrader at $19,950 up from the Ebay buy-it-now of $18,995.

6/10/11 Update - Ebay auction ended with a high bid of just $13,100

6/2/11 Update - Back on Ebay with a buy-it-now of just $18,995 down from $19,900

5/19/11 Update - Added a Carfax report. Seems to be pretty clean.

5/17/11 Update - Bidding only reached $13,100 this time.

5/11/11 Update - Back on Ebay with a $19,900 buy-it-now.

5/9/11 Update - Definitely wrong on that one. It got bid up to $18,200 and it still did not meet the reserve. I think that's a decently strong price for an Ebay listing.

5/9/11 Update - I assume the current bid of $15,200 is close to the reserve as the seller just lowered his reserve with 7 hours left in the auction. Ebay does not let sellers lower the reserve to the current high bid, but usually when they lower it this late in the auction the next bid meets it. We'll see.

Overall it looks to be in very nice shape for having 100k+ miles. The obvious points of wear as you'd expect are the front bumper including the corner lights, the front of the hood, all four wheels, and the driver seat bolster. The rest cleaned up pretty well. The only weird thing is that it appears to be missing the washer fluid reservoir (?). The AutoCheck history report shows it was in an accident on May 18, 2005 with left side damage. It's obviously been driven a lot of miles since then and it looks ok to me, so I don't think it's a huge concern. It appears the current owner has only had if for about a month after buying it at auction. The Ebay username belongs to an auto broker, but he's listing it as if he bought it for himself. I'm guessing his was able to buy it for a pretty reasonable price, and hopefully he'll be willing to pass that on to the next owner.
