Seller Description

Reduced price. All offers will be considered. The 1999 BMW M-Coupe will be sold this weekend or next week. The potential buyer that was agreed to buy this Friday the 18th had trouble coming up with the funds and thankfully emailed to inform me of his shortcoming.

I will have the car smogged the morning of the 18th and sold as soon as an acceptable offer comes.

The car needs a few small things but nothing major and everything works. If you did the 70k mile maintenance you would be ready to drive with full confidence. The tires are a little worn but not totally bald. They realistically have 20-30% life left. There are a few small dings in the body but nothing major. In my opinion you only notice then when you are looking for them. The interior is very nice except for a small stain in the trunk where it looks like someone spilled a small bit of ink. You only notice the stain if you open the trunk and inspect.

The car is very fun to drive and at 76010 miles it is just getting to its prime. Brakes are good and like I stated. Everything works!

Previous Listing:
Clean, fast, and fun are the best three words to describe this M Coupe BMW. It lives in the garage under cover, is professionally maintained, and only driven on dry sunny days. It is nearly perfect with the exception of one small stain in the back storage compartment and minor wear and tear that you will see in the pictures. The car is mechanically perfect and ready to drive. Must see this car to fully appreciate.

My Comments

Sold 5/25/12 - Heard it sold for $12,500. Someone got a good deal. Enjoy!

5/14/12 Update - Price reduced again to $15,000 from $15,500. May still be a decent deal if you are ready to provide a little TLC.

5/13/12 Update - A note from someone who has test driven it. Maybe there's a reason it's been on the market for so long:

I received a personal email inquiry regarding my previous test drive experience. I thought of sharing with everyone on here. Surprisingly, this coupe looks so much sharper in the pictures than in person. There are numerous cosmetic issues both inside and out. Scratches and dents are found on almost all side panels. The Dark Oregon Beige interior of this coupe is somewhat darker due to lack of detailing and dirt accumulation. All tires are dry and worn out. The engine is not as smooth when driven. I've driven higher mileage m coupes which runs smoother in comparison. Seller was not able to provide a single service receipt or documentation. Definitely far from being a "professionally maintained" , "near perfect" car. Too many loose ends.

5/11/12 Update - New Craigslist ad has it priced at just $15,500 down from $16,500

4/18/12 Update - Now all the ads are back up to $16,500

3/25/12 Update - New Craigslist ad has the price at $16,400 down from $16,500

3/24/12 Update - After almost a year of being overpriced, it's back down to $16,500 which is a good deal once again.

9/24/11 Update - Price back down to $20,450 from $21,500

6/24/11 Update - Price back up to $21,500?

6/8/11 Update - Price reduced to $20,500 from $21,500 and some new photos.

5/30/11 Update - Now priced at $21,500 up from $16,500. Not sure what they're thinking.

5/12/11 Update - I guess it didn't sell back in March as it's now on AutoTrader. The price is reduced to $16,500 from $17,000. The interior seems like it's in pretty good shape aside from the stain in the trunk. You can find those panels on Ebay once in a while.

It appears to be completely stock and in good shape. No mention of the interior color but most are black. The price is pretty good for the apparent condition and mileage.
