Offered here for a highly appreciative new owner is this rare 2000 BMW M Coupe with only 76,700 original miles.Finished in Cosmosblack metallic over all black leather interior, this car features the 240+ horsepower 3.2 liter inline six cylinder engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission with short shift kit. This mostly original example features heated electric leather seats, traction control, anti-lock brakes, cruise control, ugraded audio system with Alpine head unit high-powered amps and subwoofer and 19" ASA [made by BBS] wheels with Michelin PS2 tires. [Factory Roadstar wheels with tires also available as an option] and front cross-drilled rotors. Overall it is a quite nice example in cool color combo priced with only 76,700 miles and realistic reserve or buy-it-now option. THE BODY AND TRIM
The body of this metallic black M coupe is in good to very good condition overall. It sports all the factory original vin tags with a clean AutoCheck report. It does have its share of minor imperfections including some less-than perfect touched up paint spots on the rear bumper, a blemished area on the bottom right of the front spoiler. It had both the antenna and the rear wiper removed at some point by the previous owner. There is also some spidering to the clear-coat on the otherwise round and true ASA wheels. I would recommend replacing at least two of the Michelin tires in the next 5,000 miles or so.

THE INTERIOR
The interior of this non-smoker 2000 M coupe is in good to very good condition overall. All gauges and controls including cold a/c, cruise control, windows, etc.] work as they should. A few imperfections include the clock backlight not working, some leftover screw holes in the side of the center console, the center shift boot is a bit tattered. The leather shows only slight wear on the side of the driver seat. There is the typical M coupe/roadster seat rock. [An inexpensive fix with $5 bushings from the dealer].

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This car is a blast to drive...one of the best handling BMWs ever produced! The engine has all of its power and revs smoothly and ferociously in any gear to redline. The aftermarket cold air intake adds an extra bit of throatiness to the experience. The factory short shift kit is tight and precise, the handling is ultra responsive with tenacious grip. The braking is super strong.

Sold 2/20/11 - Sold to James. Congrats!

2/17/11 Update - Ebay auction ended with no takers at $13,900. It always seems like the highest bids usual come on the first Ebay listing.

2/9/11 Update - It did not end up selling as the bidding stalled at $14,000.

2/9/11 Update - Buy-it-now price has been lowered to $14,900 only $900 more than the current high bid of $14,000. I think it's a good deal.

2/7/11 Update - Buy-it-now price lowered to $15,900. The current bid is now up to $13,423 leading me to believe that it probably will sell.

2/3/11 Update - This coupe was just listed on Ebay with a buy-it-now of $16,900. It appears to be a flip of a coupe sold in Boynton Beach, FL last month with an asking price of $12,000. The only obvious change I see is the 19" ASA AR1 wheels. There's also no sign of what the previous seller called Burberry interior but never photographed. They cleaned it up pretty well, but it's not without its imperfections which they do mention in the listing. There also appears to be a relatively poorly installed sub and amp in the trunk, and what appears to be a missing trim piece under the trunk cover. The price is ok, but obviously not as good as before.

There's no mention of the mileage and no photos. It has an S52 engine rather than an S54. You can pretty much assume the ASA wheels are the AR1 model which look nice on coupes. Could be an ok deal if the mileage is low, but the owners apparent lack of knowledge is a little worrisome.
