Seller Description

Born in November 1998, this 12 year old Imola red over black nappa leather m-coupe is a low mileage, unmolested example of the fastest street-legal car BMW made up to that date.

  • Factory original M coupe with Dinan stage 1 chip and Dinan strut tower brace installed in 1999 or 2000 by BMW dealer for the original owner.
  • Clean Carfax guaranteed.
  • Not raced, non-smoking adult owners.
  • Never driven in snow. Garaged in winter.
  • Airbags have never deployed.
  • Standard equipment:
  • 3.2 L and 240 hp
    • 5 speed manual
    • 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS
    • 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear BF Goodrich G-force TA KDW2 tires on original 'Roadstar' alloy wheels.
    • AC, cruise, heated seats, Harmon-Kardon audio with CD (original).
    • Tilt up power sun roof.
    • Central lock (fobs), pwr doors and windows.
    • Car is sold with a cover and a BMW battery tender/charger
    • EVERYTHING WORKS !
  • Car has normal stone chips (minor), scuff on rear bumper and minor curb rash that you would expect for a car that is 12 years old.
  • Included are original window sticker, delivery report, original 1999 dealership sales brochure and a huge collection of vehicle related articles, service reports, etc.
  • Maintenance: Copies of dealer invoices for maintenance including brake fluid changes, filter changes, oil changes, coolant changes, etc. CAR WAS SOLD NEW AT AND SERVICED BY GAULT BMW, ENDICOTT, NY (607-341-7373). ASK FOR CHRIS O'BRIEN, BMW SERVICE MANAGER WHO KNOWS THE CAR WELL.
  • Mechanical issue: if you overfil the gas tank, the fuel guage needle indicator may swing from full to empty and back sporatically until some gas is used.
  • Replacement part: The original BMW clutch-stop in the floor was too small. Due to original sloppiness in the clutch pedal bushing the clutch pedal may slip off the clutch-stop when the clutch is fully depressed. I replaced the original stop with a purpose built large clutch stop from UUC.
  • Body repair: Previous owner dragged the chin spoiler on a parking lot curb in 2003. Front spoiler was re-sprayed by BMW dealer. I have the original work order.

My Comments

Sold 11/20/10 - Already sold. Not surprising as it is a really clean coupe.

The seller created a website for his coupe with a lot more information and photos. It seems to be very well taken care of by a meticulous owner. He's including all the documentation as wells a collection of articles and service reports. The only modifications of note are the OEM hatch spoiler, shift knob and Dinan strut bar. It's also very nice that the seller is including a car cover and battery tender. Seems like a really nice, well documented coupe that's well worth the asking price.
