Seller Description

2001 BMW M Coupe
also known as a Z3M Coupe model E36 91,300 miles
This car is so much fun, but my lifestyle is changing, so it's time to pass along this gem to the next caretaker.

Arctic Silver with Black and Grey Nappa Leather Interior.

Totally stock except for Koni Adjustable Shocks.

The S54 inline 6-cylinder engine is very strong and gets about 20MPG on the highway.

Mechanically, it is very sound. I have kept the maintenance up to ensure reliability as it is my daily driver.

If you are looking for a garage queen, then keep looking.
If you are looking for a GREAT and reliable driver with a little character, then MAKE ME AN OFFER.
If you are looking for an inexpensive high-performance car to turn into a garage queen, then MAKE ME AN OFFER.

I have a walk-around video posted on Youtube:

""Anyone need a coupe for Dorkfest? This would be a cheap and local way to get into an S54. No photos yet, but the owner seems very upfront about its issues. Like I've said before, anything under $20k for a clean titled S54 is a pretty good deal."" --John Martin, M Coupe Buyers Guide

** Interior is in fantastic shape.
** Tires need replacing now
** There are dings on the metal body but nothing that would require paint. Bumpers have a scuff here and there.
** Wheels have flaking paint.
** Sunroof is sealed shut due to a mechanical problem that was too expensive to fix.
** I have clear title and has CA registration tags good through October 2013
** 4 years ago when I had Koni Adjustable Shocks installed, I was told by the mechanics that there was no sub-frame damage.
** The engine main bearings have not been replaced because there is no problem with them.
** Maintenance records are available on demand
** I have an ad up on autotrader (search for BMW M Coupe in the 92108 zip code) and it has a link to verify the carfax. The multiple owners are me. I got married and retitled after that. Then I lost my front plate and had to re-register and re-title. It would be easy enough for me to prove and document that I'm the second owner of this vehicle. I bought it from a teacher in Temecula while it was still under factory warranty and paid cash at that time.

I just dropped the price SIGNIFICANTLY as of this posting am still willing to negotiate so feel free to make me a reasonable offer.

My Comments

Sold 9/23/12 - Sold for asking price. Sounds like it's going to a good new home.

9/20/12 Update - Price reduced to just $17,750 from $19,980 making it a very good deal. I wouldn't expect it to last long.

7/28/12 Update - A few updates from the seller:

Thanks. I wanted to comment on the CarFax. The failed emissions tests were because the engine was stone cold each time. The technician at the smog-test station had me wind up the engine over about a 15 mile drive, then bring it back at operating temperature. After I did that, the coupe passed. I’ll be sure to pass this info on to the next owner.
Also, I polished out the “nasty”ness of the scrape on the driver’s side. It did leave a dent that is also going to be easy to get out. The bumper repair shouldn’t be that big a deal either.
Clearly not a flawless unit, but as far as a driver’s-car goes, this is a gem!

Sounds good!

7/25/12 Update - Price increased slightly to $19,980 from $19,750 and the description was updated.

7/23/12 Update - Added a YouTube video and new photos

7/20/12 Update - Added a clean Carfax report. Only issue I see is a couple failed emissions tests. They were in California though, so he may have just looked at the tester wrong :-).

7/17/12 Update - Posted some photos from the new AutoTrader ad. That scrape on the fender is pretty nasty. The rest looks pretty good besides some wear on the driver seat bolster. It appears to be pretty much stock besides the K&N filter.

Anyone need a coupe for Dorkfest? This would be a cheap and local way to get into an S54. No photos yet, but the owner seems very upfront about its issues. Like I've said before, anything under $20k for a clean titled S54 is a pretty good deal.
