Seller Description

The customizing company I work for bought this car from the auction to resell back in June of 2006 and sold it to an out of state buyer who never came for the car or had it picked up so finally after all these years it was liened for storage fees. Over all the years of having the car in storage I would often start it and move it in and out of the shop just to make sure everything got lubricated and moving (plus I loved hearing it!) . I then bought it from the company once the state issued the lien title earlier this year.

I had wanted one of these M coupes ever since they came out as I thought it was such a unique body style and you really never ever see them so I love the rarity factor as well. Its hard to tell in the pics but these cars look insanely wide from the rear. I didn't mind that the car wasn't a mint condition garage queen as I knew over time I would make it perfect for me and in the meantime it would not only be an awesome street car but the perfect track car. Well unfortunately my wife wasn't happy with my decision to buy it as she says its not a priority that we need right now , on top of that my doctor thas told me that due to some bone spur issues with my foot that I should no longer be driving manual transmission cars anyways. So be it, - sucks for me but its your lucky day!

I would suppose that if youre still reading this you are familiar with this car and its stats ,rarity , performance, and cult following. If not please google it - youll be amazed at the specs and reviews of this bad boy. Surely you also know that these dont pop up for sale very often at all so make sure you bid if you want it and dont kick your self next week that you passed on it!

I would rather give you more info then not enough as I want you to be happy and know what you are getting so please ask any questions you might have. I know how anal some people can be even though others see this car in person and think its perfect. I just dont have interest in it now since I know I have to sell it so its bittersweet to even look at it.

As I mentioned the car isnt a mint showroom car , it does need some tlc if your wanting to get it in mint showroom shape. If you dont mind a diamond in the rough and just need a badass track car that's still street legal (and a heck of a lot cheaper than a 911 twin turbo) then this is really your lucky day. As you can see the hood has some dents and damage (see pics) - I had planned on putting a lightweight carbon fiber hood on the car eventually , or you could opt to fix this one or just find a used z3 hood. There are a few scratches on the drivers side of the car (see pics), some dings & dents in the passengers door mirror (see pics) area as well as other minor imperfections here and there that a 13-14 year old car would also have I'm sure. I dont care for the wheels myself (the finish is rough and tires arent the greatest anyways - right rear sounds like a broken belt or flat spot?) and I had planned on putting some multi spoke chrome wheels and new tires on it and saving these for track wheels/tires but its your choice now. The fuel gauge had been acting up ( flutters or shows zero fuel) but hasnt lately. Research said it was 1 of 2 easy fixes - I tried the 1st fix (contact cleaner at the fuel gauge connectors in dash) and that didn't fix it. So I assume its the 2nd fix which is to replace fuel pump sender. According to Bimmerforums this is a 90 minute job and you might have to do it if the gauge acts up again. The car has been lowered by the previous owner , it has H&R springs and Bilstein struts. It also has a Flowmaster exhaust which sounds simply amazing. Also has a Clifford alarm, tint, Harmon Kardon system with disc changer, etc. You'll have to have the airbag light reset as I set it off when I removed one of the door airbags to get to the window motor to replace a broken clip and I should have disconnected the battery first. The airbags were not blown though and I dont believe they ever have been. Also, the abs light came on (which in turn causes your light to come on) however the brakes seem fine so Ive never messed with it further. I did take it to get aligned where they replaced the front control arms and bushings and tie rods - I personally dont think this was needed but they sold me on it anyways. Since I never plated or insured it I havent really got to check out its performance as my longest trip was taking it home from the alignment shop but man you can tell she wants to get up and go! I cant stress enough how good this thing sounds.
When the title came back it said not actual mileage but yes the true mileage is only 56,346 miles as the odometer shows. I went back and waited over an hour in line at the BMV to get this resolved and the woman was extremely rude and ignorant and even though she admitted that our original title said actual mileage , she said that she couldn't fix it now and she said it was "fishy" that the car wouldn't have more miles on it now then it did in 2006 - even though she knew from her own paperwork that it had been being stored since then!!!!! I will be glad to sign an odometer statement and have it notarized if youd like to get your bmv to make a correction . VIN # is WBSCM9331XLC60214. The title is currently salvage but I have all of the necessary paperwork already signed by the police done to turn it into a rebuilt title. So if the high bidder would like I can run the title and have a rebuilt one issued but it usually takes a couple weeks turn around and will run approx. $75. That way all you have to do is take it to your bmv and title it and get plates instead of messing with any paperwork hassles.

Again - sorry for rambling but I want you to be happy and know what you are getting so please ask any questions you might have. I know how anal some people can be even though others see this car in person and think its perfect. Please feel free to come see it in person anytime. I am going to list it in some local sales magazines so if it ends up selling I will remove the ebay auction once it does.

please pay in full with cashiers, check, bank check, personal check, cash, etc within 1 week. ANY FORM OF PAYMENT OTHER THEN CASH WILL HAVE TO CLEAR UNTIL MY BANK SAYS ITS GOOD!!! or you can have your bank do a wire transfer which is wuick easy and safe!

Remember , you dont see these very often at all, especially for sale - so bid accordingly so you dont have any regrets when someone else wins it!!

sorry the ebay pics are so small , give me your email address and I will email you large pictures of whatever youd like.

My Comments

Sold 6/13/12 - Auction was ended early because it was sold off Ebay. I'm not sure what bidding ultimately got up to.

6/11/12 Update - Bidding up to $8,601

6/9/12 Update - Bidding up to $8,100

6/8/12 Update - Bidding up to $5,100

This coupe has quite the history. The seller seems to be pretty honest and upfront with its issues though. The hood is in pretty rough shape, but the rest of it looks alright. The interior actually looks very good. I'd plan on replacing any rubber hoses and all fluids ASAP though. I think this would make a great project or track car for somebody. It could end up being a great deal. I'm looking forward to seeing what it goes for.
